Ideas you can
interact with.

Independent projects and hands-on demos.
Explore the details, then try them yourself.

02 / DATA WORKFLOWS

From messy exports
to a usable report.

Inconsistent order IDs, duplicate records, and invalid emails make exports hard to use. This browser demo normalizes values and produces a clean CSV.

Inspect the output: two duplicate rows removed, one invalid row excluded. Toggle duplicate removal to compare the results.

04 / NEWS INTELLIGENCE

A brief worth reviewing.

Explore a source-linked technology brief. Edit summaries, check the original articles, and approve what belongs in the final edition.

Prepared editorial sample. No automatic newsletter delivery.

05 / APPOINTMENT WORKFLOWS

From a question to a booking.

Walk through a sample inbound conversation, confirm a time, or test calendar failures and handoffs to a person.

Scripted text simulation. No live phone or calendar connection.

02 / HOW I CAN HELP

Build. Connect.
Make it work.

Choose a business problem, not a tech stack. Start with a focused fix, an integration, or a first version.

01 / LAUNCH & IMPROVE

Websites & e-commerce

Give customers a clear path from discovering your business to making an inquiry or purchase.

  • Business websites, landing pages & CMS
  • Storefront, booking & payment integrations
  • Bug fixes, mobile usability & performance

A first step: one page, one booking flow, or one priority fix.

Discuss your website
02 / BUILD YOUR PRODUCT

Full-stack apps & portals

Turn an idea or a spreadsheet-driven process into a usable application for customers or your team.

  • Web apps, SaaS MVPs & client portals
  • Accounts, databases & admin dashboards
  • Testing, deployment & existing-app improvements

A first step: one complete user journey with agreed acceptance tests.

Discuss your application
03 / CONNECT YOUR TOOLS

Workflow automation & CRM

Keep information moving between the tools you use, with less copying, chasing, and re-entering.

  • CRM, email, calendar & spreadsheet integrations
  • APIs, webhooks & scheduled workflows
  • Review steps, error handling & activity logs

A first step: connect two tools and automate one repeatable workflow.

Discuss your workflow
04 / PUT AI TO WORK

AI assistants & knowledge search

Help customers find answers and help your team work with documents, with clear review and handoff paths.

  • Website FAQ assistants & document search
  • AI-assisted summaries, extraction & reply drafts
  • Source references, evaluation & human review

A first step: a pilot using approved content and a small test set.

Discuss an AI assistant
05 / START WITH A PILOT

AI phone & booking pilots

Explore an inbound phone assistant for routine questions, lead intake, and appointment requests.

  • Integration with an existing voice AI platform
  • Calendar & CRM connections
  • Test calls, fallback paths & human transfer

A first step: one call flow, tested before a limited rollout. Platform usage is quoted separately.

Discuss a phone pilot
06 / MAKE DATA USEFUL

Data, reporting & ML prototypes

Turn scattered files into useful information, or test whether a model can solve a specific problem.

  • CSV, Excel & document data processing
  • Data pipelines, dashboards & recurring reports
  • ML baselines, model evaluation & feasibility tests

A first step: a sample dataset, a defined output, and measurable checks.

Discuss your data project

PRICING / A CLEAR AGREEMENT

Scoped to your project.
Priced before we start.

You don't need a finished specification or a firm budget to start a conversation.

DEFINED BUILD

A fixed scope

For a clear feature, fix, or integration. Receive a written quote with deliverables, review points, and payment milestones.

DISCOVERY & PILOTS

A smaller first step

For uncertain requirements or an AI idea. Agree on a bounded assessment or pilot, its fee, and success criteria before committing to a larger build.

ONGOING CARE

Support when needed

Arrange maintenance or improvements separately, with an agreed scope, time allowance, and response window. No required retainer.

Know what you're paying for.

Build & setup
Development, integration, testing, and the agreed handoff.
Running costs
Hosting, software subscriptions, AI usage, and phone minutes where needed. Estimated separately, with client-owned accounts where practical.
Optional support
Maintenance and future changes, agreed separately from the original build.
03 / WORKING TOGETHER

A small first step.
A clear way forward.

  1. 01

    Talk it through

Tell me what's not working, who uses it, and what a better result looks like.

  2. 02

    Agree on the scope

Review a written proposal with a manageable first milestone and clear acceptance criteria.

  3. 03

    Build & review

See progress, test the agreed features, and give feedback before final handoff.

  4. 04

    Put it to work

Receive the agreed deliverables and setup notes. Arrange ongoing support if you need it.

04 / YOUR DEVELOPER

Hi, I'm Melaina.

A technical partner
who sees the business side.

I'm Melaina, an independent developer based in San Diego with a computer science degree from UC San Diego and an entrepreneurial background.

I enjoy connecting the details: a usable interface, the logic behind it, and the workflow it supports. You'll work directly with me, from the first conversation to the final review.

A FEW DETAILS

Before we start.

Can you work on my existing website?

Yes. Share the public website link and describe the issue. I'll review the scope and technology before confirming an approach and price. Please do not send passwords through the inquiry form.

Do I need to know exactly what to build?

No. Start with the problem and the result you want. We can identify a small first milestone. If the project needs a deeper technical assessment, we'll agree on that scope and fee before any paid work begins.

Are the work samples real client projects?

AutoPilot is an independent engineering project. The message, data-cleaning, and appointment demos use fictional sample data. The news-review sample links to real publisher articles. These browser-based samples are not client testimonials, live phone or email connections, or a claim of customer results.

Do AI projects require training a new model?

Often the first step is integrating an existing model or service with your approved content and tools. A pilot tests usefulness, reliability, and usage costs. Custom model work is scoped only after reviewing the data, evaluation needs, and available compute.

Can we start with a small phone assistant pilot?

Yes, subject to a fit review. We can define one inbound call flow, an existing voice platform, a test plan, and a handoff to your team. Language coverage, business rules, and launch readiness are checked during the pilot rather than assumed.

How do pricing and payments work?

Pricing is project-specific. We agree on scope and payment milestones in writing before starting. Third-party subscriptions and usage are estimated separately from development and optional support. Payment details are provided with the accepted proposal; this website does not collect card information.

Can we meet in San Diego?

Local meetings can be arranged by agreement. Remote collaboration is welcome worldwide. Include your time zone and preferred meeting times with your inquiry.
